My 2011 Gadget Wish List

With Christmas just around the corner (not to mention, my birthday!), I thought I’d put together a list of cool tech (and non-tech) gadgets that will surely help unleash the inner geek in anyone.

Now on to my list.

iPod nano iWatchz Q Series watchband - black.  It’s been in the market for some time now but this little tech gizmo has my name all over it — it’s geeky, fashionable and sporty all in one.  I love anything that’s multi purpose — not only does it help keep you from being late to your meetings, it can also entertain you while you’re on the go.  The watchband itself is about $24.95 and the iPod nano starting at $129.

Jawbone’s Up wristband: I’m a health nut.  It is no secret I love to work out and stay healthy.  The only thing I somehow have not had much success in doing is curbing my diet and tracking whether I am getting enough sleep every day, which is why this bracelet caught my attention —it does the work for you! The device is smart enough so that it tracks your movement, your sleep patterns and helps you determine what types of food make you feel great.  The only drawback is that you have to have an iPhone — it is not Android compatible (which is what I use as my mobile device).  I hope to see the app in Android market soon.  Cost for this bad boy is $99.

Throwable panoramic ball camera.  I have no  use for a camera like this but setting aside purpose of utility,  just how awesome is the concept though?!  There are 36 built in camera modules and when you toss the ball up in the air, it captures a full spherical panorama of your surroundings.  Unfortunately, the device isn’t available on the market just yet, but I am sure to pick one up when it hits the stands at Toys R’ Us!

Shelves to-go packable shelves.  All I can say is ingenious.   Why didn’t anyone think of this sooner?!  Makes for easy packing and unpacking.  It also helps keep your stuff organized which is convenient if you’re someone like me whose luggage typically looks like a volcano of clothes erupted in it three days into my travel.  The price is just right, for $36.95, it can make your travels a lot more pleasant.

Portable laptop desk.  I spend a lot of time on my laptop.  But when I get home from work, there’s nothing more I’d like to do than lie down and rest.  This portable laptop desk lets you do both! You can comfortably work on your computer while still getting the relaxation that you need (and deserve). The price tag is not ideal ($120 big ones) but this definitely falls in the category of “things I wouldn’t buy for myself but would be happy to see under my tree!”
